Our story
We are a family owned and operated business that has been on Hawthorne Since August 10th, 1984. Portland Pet Supply started out as Portland Pharmacy located at the corner of 43rd and Hawthorne. In 1994 we moved to our current location as two separate businesses, Portland Pharmacy and Portland Pet Supply. Nina is a pharmacist by training and had a love of animals growing up. She decided to carry a small amount of vaccines for dogs and cats, which eventually led to the opening of Portland Pet Supply.
Nina and her husband Steve also raised their children Derrick and Manida in the store, who worked there everyday after school. We are proud to remain a family owned and operated business, with Nina, Steve, and Derrick continuing to manage the store everyday.
